This excursion provided the students the opportunity to explore how the discovery of gold changed the Australian identity, environment and heritage. The focus of the excursion was on significant events, actions that happened and significant people of the era. The children looked at the lifestyle and perspectives of the people and groups living at the time on the goldfields.
