Our thanks to everyone who joined us for our wonderful Book Parade and family reading session morning. The costumes of the students and teachers showed what a great love of literature there is at Mary Immaculate Primary.
This year there was a huge variety of costumes with children dressed as their favourite book characters. There was everything from Diary of a Whimpy Kid, Wizard of Oz, Minecraft characters, Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter, a world of fairytale characters to, of course, every superhero under the sun!
After the parade family members were welcomed to their children's classrooms for Family Reading sessions where parents were thrilled to hear how much expression the children were putting into reading aloud to bring their favourite books to life.
The open air setting proved successful for this gathering at this time too! This was a big change as it used to be held in the multipurpose area but this year there was so much more breathing space under the front shade area.
A huge thank you to all children and parents in their involvement in our Book Week celebrations, particularly our parade!
It was great to see children demonstrating their love of reading in front of their peers and teachers.
